"Support during Lock down 2020"

About: Dirrans Centre (including rehab)

(as a service user),

Once again I feel I have to write about the excellent care I have received from the Dirrans Centre staff. The Dirrans Centre have always made it very clear that nothing is a problem to them, even through a global pandemic! !

They have called me every week to make sure I'm ok and don't need anything, they have collected my medications when nobody else could, I was also supported to the park in my wheelchair   one sunny day, this was the first time I had been outside in weeks and it felt wonderful to have some fresh air at last.

For the last couple of months Laura and Jaycie (staff members) have been supporting me with doing my own shopping, collecting prescriptions, local walks in the park, I was so anxious and frightened about doing all these things again after being locked indoors for 3 months, but with the support of the staff they got me through it and I don't feel as anxious and scared anymore.

The Dirrans have also done a great job at keeping me connected, they set me up to have a weekly zoom chat with friends and staff from the Dirrans, I also do a zoom cooking Group on a Friday which I really look forward to. It has been a very tough and lonely time over the last few months as I have not been allowed to see my family and friends and I really don't know what I would have done or how I would have coped without the help and support from the dedicated staff team at the Dirrans Centre. I will never be able to thank them all enough!

Dear IBIZASUN,

We are all delighted to have been able to support you through the Covid19 lockdown.

It has been a very difficult time for everyone and fully understand how frightened and isolated you felt.

Sometimes it is the little things that make all the difference -like going out for a walk and feeling the fresh air. It is also so important to feel connected and our zoom chats and cooking group were good fun and of benefit to everyone.

We hope it won't be too long before we can welcome you back to the centre but will continue to support you until then.

Many thanks from us all for your kind words, take care and keep safe!

Kind regards

Nanette
