"Is NEMS actually a working GP Practice?"

Honestly, there are no words but I have to offer a few, under the dire circumstances. We appreciate the state of NHS, the Covid-19 issues, yet repeat medications or medications per se, seem to be an issue at NEMS.

The person I care for warranted antibiotics, they were refused.

She got them eventually, for a different condition.

And this patient is not one who takes medication, willy nilly

she absolutely hates going to the doctors as it is.

Even her hospital consultant agreed that her condition warranted antibiotics.

As for repeat prescriptions, one seems to have to beg for the medication which one has been prescribed. Don't talk about letters from the Consultants, they seem to be tossed aside, on some occasions.

I understand that the GP has a say, in what is given according to the state of the patient but one sees a medical consultant for good reasons, not just to go on a hospital holiday.

As for reading the notes well, that's another story.

One doctor who I had never seen, was reading the notes whilst on the telephone to me and of course that took a while.

Medication ordered early June 2020 again virtually had to beg for them and these are medications, recommended by a hospital consultant.

I thought NEMS had a bit of hope last year but it deteriorated again and we as patients are just 'hanging on' as it makes no sense to us to change

Practice, when we are moving soon anyway and thank goodness we are as I have 'never' come across a practice as dire as this.

I have always said, there are some good doctors there and the nurses are on top of their game and the receptionists do their utmost to help but the Practice itself seems to be in an utter mess as having to wait two weeks for medication when it was ordered is absolutely ridiculous.

The gentleman who wrote about NEMS, giving it one star and stated it should be closed, I totally agree.
