"My story is about how the Dirrans Center has helped me"

About: Dirrans Centre (including rehab)

(as a service user),

I have been attending the Dirrans centre for a couple of years now after my stroke in 2016 and I was a bit apprehensive at first but after a couple of visits meeting staff and service users I started to feel more comfortable and confident. They really made me feel welcomed and all the staff were very empathetic towards me and my situation and meeting other people that have had the same or similar experience has been so helpful in my recovery.

My life was a complete mess I really didn’t want to carry on. I was in a very dark place and the Dirrans staff gave me a glimmer of light at the end of my long and dark tunnel they dug me out of the hole that I was in and gave me a real reason to live again and try to rebuild my life back up again.

I knew I would never have my old life back again I had already accepted that but the staff at the Dirrans centre particularly Darren and William brought me back to a place where I could create a new life for myself it was a long road but baby step after baby step I got there now I have my own home and I’m pretty independent and I owe a lot of that to the Dirrans centre the services they provide are truly a valuable necessity to the community.
