"Ulcerative Colitis"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Outpatients Department (OPD) South Tyrone Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as a service user),

Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2008. Have undergone numerous treatments, whilst admitted to a ward and as an outpatient. Have always had excellent care. The nursing staff at the day clinic are very prompt, professional and welcoming. During this covid crisis, I started receiving infusions at Dungannon instead of Craigavon. It was welcome the friendly, familiar faces I had come to know in Craigavon where here to treat in Dungannon. IBD nurses, especially Ruth and Niamh have always been incredibly helpful and kind, even be it during a catch up phone call.

A big thank you again to all the staff whom I’ve met throughout the years. Have never had a bad experience, which makes having a chronic health condition all the easier :)

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us. It is lovely to hear that after having many treatments over the years your experiences have all been positive ones. This is especially nice to hear at a time when a lot of changes have had to be made due to the COVID 19 pandemic with our relocation to South Tyrone Hospital, To hear your positive feedback is reassuring and encouraging.

I will share your thanks with all the staff in the Day Clinical Centre and your IBD nurses.

Once again thank you for taking the time to share your story.
