"Ultrasound Scanning"

I had my 12 week scan last week for my second pregnancy and was feeling anxious and nervous about the appointment going well, especially with my husband being unable to attend the appointment with me.  

I was taken into the screening room on time and was immediately made to feel at ease by Lauren, who did my scan.   She was really friendly and understanding - she made me feel like my concerns were heard and understood.   She also made sure I knew what was going to happen at the appointment before we began and asked if I had any questions.   Within seconds of the scan beginning she reassured me that baby was looking great and immediately calmed my nerves.   She was really enthusiastic about showing me details of the baby on the scan - feet, hands, heart, spine, and it really felt like I was there with a friend.  

I was allowed to film some video of the scan to show my husband and she even printed a message on a scan photo for my eldest, and popped it into a wee card for them.   These small gestures of kindness really made me feel very appreciative to have such wonderful staff working during these difficult times, and still focusing on patient care 100%.   Thank you so much Lauren, you're a credit to your team.
