"Ongoing health problems ignored by proffesionals"

About: Stoke Surgery

(as the patient),

I had pneumonia in earlier this year due to a low immune system.

I was unable to make it through the day without a nap. It was affecting home life, work life and family life.

The doctors just kept telling me I was stressed. And telling me to go to the gym.

I took their advice and reduced working hours etc went to the gym.

Symptoms worsen.

I go to the doctors 3 times because I'm fed up of feeling like I'm dragging myself around. I told them I believe I have low iron and a b12 deficiency. Which I was laughed at for. They didnt take me seriously. My results came back I had a vitamin d level severely low, low iron and my b12 was only just above the lowest 'normal'.. I have many neurological symptoms of b12 but they refused to treat me.

I'm supplementing my own vitamin D which as helped with my pain.

They patronised me, refused to listen to me. I feel as though doctors are not trained on vitamin levels and nutrition enough and I have managed to treat myself and now have done my own tests which shows my active b12 is very low.

B12 and vitamin D deficiencies are linked to alzheimers and dementia. And they cost very little to treat which may help prevent cognitive decline layer in life, which costs the social care system far far more.

This is stoke surgery in Plymouth.

The doctor I visited spent more time staring at my two children at interrupting me to talk to them about school, than listening to me. This is a concern and I found it very odd.
