"Bad service at the fracture clinic"

About: Hinchingbrooke Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I was referred from minor injuries at the Prince of Wales Hospital for a suspected fracture or damage to my Achilles/soft tissue I was put in a moon boot as the nurse I saw was very concerned there was damage that needed to be seen by a specialist, two days later I went for my referral in Huntingdon Hinchingbrooke hospital all I can say is I’ve never received such bad service from a doctor. They were extremely rude dismissed my injury telling me there’s nothing wrong did not even open the notes the hospital had given me to pass on to them about my history with Tendonitis which has gone on for years which could possible of lead up to this injury.

I explained how the pain had been for months, but they did not want to know instead got me to lay down and started prodding whispering to the nurse how nothing is wrong. This doctor came across very aggressive and even yelling at me to relax my foot which is hard when your being yelled at. They then told me the boot was pointless why was I there then, told me I’m fine and left the room.

I left feeling upset embarrassed and still worried about my Achilles I went back to the minor injuries and I have now been referred to addenbrookes to see someone else as another nurse confirmed she believes there is damage.

I would not recommend hinchingbrooke to anyone based this this. I was dismissed and left deflated. I was seen for 10 mins tops and left to walk out in tears.
I am writing this as I believe no patient should be dismissed made to feel uncomfortable and like they cannot receive treatment.
