"A good place to get better"

About: Millbrook Mental Health Unit

(as the patient),

The staff here are ok, they are all very different but each in a good way. You have some that say they are “firm to be kind” others that are strict but in a good way. Each to their own.

It does get frustrating, but you know the staff are here to listen.

They do care! They will fight for you even when you don’t realise it.

They do things for your benefit even if you don’t like it, or agree with it. You can have a laugh with the nurses and the HCA’S. The new Activity’s coordinator is great, has been here a while but just changed job roles.

The doctors here are ok, change quite a lot.

SALTS Person is very helpful, and really kind, you know they are listening.

The OT and APIP People are great. It’s fun going in the garden and painting with them.

I feel like here is a good place to get better, it just comes with a lot. Especially when you haven’t been in hospital before. It’s terrifying.

This ward I’m on isn’t that bad, the staff make it so much better. And without them I personally know I’d be a lot worse
