"Excellent care during 2 trips to A&E"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I have been taken to hospital, twice, in the past few weeks, by Scottish Ambulance. Both crews were amazing..think it was Alison & Gary and then Jane and sorry, forgot the other guy's name. But both crews were professional, caring and funny...humour, is definitely something you need!

The A & E staff, at the RAH, were also great!! Really caring and lovely..especially, the 2nd time...Nurse Lydia, always came in to check on me.

I had severe stomach pain and shortness of breath. It might be stomach ulcers. I've had pain for 5 weeks, on max dose of gastro tabs & H2 inhibitors.

So, today, my gp has referred me for  an urgent scan and endoscopy. Could you please let me know, when, these tests are going to be available?

Thank you

Dear Poppy333

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read that you have had issues with your stomach. That doesn't sound pleasant at all.

I am however really pleased to read about the kind words you have to say about our crews. You are absolutely right that humour is very important and I would love to tell the crews well done for making you smile. In order to trace the crews I just need a little bit more information. If you would like this to happen would you be so kind as to email Scotamb.feedback@nhs.net and tell us the date and address we sent the ambulances to you? That will allow us to find the jobs and then the crews. If you wouldn't mind making reference to your care opinion username also in case one of the team pick the email before me.

I hope you are feeling a bit better now and I also hope you get sorted out with your tests quickly!

Kind regards and thanks again

Alan

Dear Poppy333

I was really sorry to hear that you have had such a difficult few weeks, this must have been a very worrying time for you.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to share your lovely comments about the care you received, the staff involved will be delighted to know that you felt so well looked after.

In terms of the timescale for the further investigations planned, if you wouldn't mind emailing me with your name and date of birth I can look into this for you, my email address is linda.russell2@ggc.scot.nhs.uk. Just to make you aware that due the current restrictions Covid-19 has brought us emergency endoscopies and CT scans are being prioritised at present.

With best wishes,

Linda
