"Excellent work"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Occupational Therapy

(as a friend),

Joe from Occupational Therapy and his excellent work

My elderly friend tripped over a kerb and hurt himself badly, he was whisked off to Lincoln County hospital, we managed a bit of contact on day one at A/E (thanks to  Gemma), then we had no direct contact with our friend for 6 more days, this was very troubling for us and not good at all for my friend.

On day 7 a young man called Joe from OT called me up and arranged a phone call between me and my mate, it was superb and Joe held the phone for him throughout the conversation, and you could feel how much this called had lifted my friends spirits. Joe then arranged for a face meeting phone conversation the next day so there was 3 of us close friends huddled beside a phone talking to our poor old mate, we even managed some laughter.  Joe commented on how much this has meant to the our friend and we could sense it too,  and it made our day as well.

Unfortunately for us Joe was going off for 10 days after that but hopefully we will still manage to continue these face to face phone calls because they are invaluable during these restrictions caused by the pandemic. Keep up the good work OT and thanks again to Joe.

Hi Mutha

What lovely kind feedback about our Occupational Therapy Assistant Joe.

I really am pleased that you took the time to share this feedback with us. It can be very isolating not being able to have visitors and it sounds as though this really lifted your friends spirits and gave you and your close friends some reassurance about your friends recovery.

Well done Joe we are very lucky to have you as part of the Occupational Therapy team.

Best wishes

Emma
