"Unclear directions"

About: Perth Royal Infirmary / Urology

(as the patient),

First time I had to go to the urology treatment centre PRI, from main entrance no signage where to go, I asked a porter, gave me information but was too much to remember, it is quiet far to go, I'm a wheelchair user, got lost several times, every person I seen in corridors had to keep asking where it was, as never seen any signage, got lost again coming out. Was same again 2nd time I was there, was worse coming out. Who knows how many lifts I was in. We patients really need a map or proper instructions with our appointments, what levels to take in the lifts plus corridors.

Dear Wilf,

Thank you for your feedback. We have had a number of similar comments from patients and appreciate the journey across the hospital is not an easy one. There should be maps at the front desk, so I am sorry you were not given one. We have tried our best to put yellow signs to guide people through the hospital to the Urology Treatment Centre but they have clearly not been good enough.

We are currently reviewing our options to support either direct access into the unit or entry from Taymount Terrace. If we can resolve a few problems, this would make the journey for patients easier.

Thank you for taking the time to highlight the problem. It is only though people like you that we understand the improvements we need to make.

Kind regards,

Stuart Keys

Clinical Care Group Manager,

Surgery and Orthopaedics.

Thanks for the reply Stuart, is taymount terrace the one that goes up the hill then turn right to the entrance and parking on both sides?
