"Refused home visit"

About: Torridon Road Medical Practice

I to book a home visit for my mother who is house bound and needed tocalled see a doctor .

She is not seriously ill that we need to call a ambulance, we called 111 and was referred back to the doctor.

At first I was told that the doctor is not doing any home visits due to COVID-19 I’d already looked on the government website which states the doctors can do home visit at their discretion.

This left us in a very awkward position as my mother needed medical attention and it was not provided by your practice.

After speaking to the receptionist I asked to speak to the practice manager, I was told they was on the phone but I could speak to someone that deals with complaints.

After speaking to the lady I was offered a telephone Appointment I explain to her that my mother was housebound and has COPD and finds it very hard to talk because she’s is on oxygen 24/7 she informed me that she had COPD and she can talk

I explain to her that my mother has a very bad case of COPD.

I also explained that my mother’s  carers come in four times a day, but because she has different carers and they are not  always on time sometimes they can be early sometimes they can be late so it’s impossible to give a time when the carers would be there to take the call .

Also last week we had to call you because my mother had a chest infection and she was given antibiotics.

After a few days she was not feeling well , when the carer checked the antibiotics she found that the Locum doctor had given her antibiotics that make her sick.

This is on my mother’s notes and Obviously he had not read her notes before he prescribed with the antibiotics which I find outrageous.

This is not the first time I’ve had to complain it seems a regular occurrence with your practice after looking at forums and feedback you  received a lot of complaints about your surgery .

something needs to be done about it because you’re not providing the care for your patience that you should

In the past we have been told from your practice is to call an ambulance ,this is a waste of NHS services when  a ambulance is not needed .
