"An Amazing Hospital"

About: Royal Surrey County Hospital

We have not attended this hospital before being new to the area. While we were navigating our way around, we were asked if we needed help finding somewhere by five completely different staff members happy to help and show us the way. I couldn't believe how friendly and caring people were.

The staff in the ward were kind and caring, and so considerate of the duration of our stay - which really wasn't a problem as we were an A&E entrant, so they couldn't have planned we would be there to stay. The amount of times that the nurses apologised for our wait which was out of their control was really empathetic and kind.

The nurses also gave my daughter a bear after she had her blood test. She is so proud of that bear she hasn't put it down and has shown it to all of her friends (he is now named Reuben).

In researching what was wrong with my daughter the drs left no stone unturned, ensuring that all potential elements were checked and all scans happened in the afternoon. People stayed a little late to make them happen, and they were cheerful, practical and caring to make sure that my daughter had a positive experience with all of the scans. She was barely stressed at all during the experience due to the calibre of staff - that is with ultra sounds, x-rays and blood tests.

Finally - I felt that the drs were practical and they listened. The end advice I agree with and I feel this is a great path forward. Despite dealing with a trauma situation in A&E, you would not have known that they when they engaged with us, they were fully present and caring.

So a big thank you to your amazing staff. Thank you for accommodating us yesterday, and thank you for your excellent care for my daughter. You have a hospital and staff to be proud of.
