"The environment felt nurturing and safe"

About: Forest Holme Hospice

(as a relative),

My mum was a patient at Forest Holme Hospice in November 2015.  She was suffering from breast cancer and had previously signalled her wish to die at home.  However, a brief stay at the hospice gave her the confidence to spend her last days there when the time came.

She was treated with dignity and the staff team were an amazing support both to her and to my family.

Despite the overwhelming sadness inherent in such a situation, the environment felt nurturing, safe and incredibly supportive.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience of care and support at Forest Holme Hospice. How reassuring that your mum felt confidence to spend her last days at the hospice.

I will share what you've written with the team. It's important to all of us that the whole family feels supported, and your comments will be deeply appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to write.

With best wishes,

Saskie
