I was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis to both knees by my consultant over two and a half years ago. It was stated that they don't know how I manage to walk at all due to the condition of my knees.
Went on to say both knees require full replacement and I was placed on a six month waiting list. I have had two pre-ops during this period. I was given a date for the op, but unfortunately I had to be admitted to Wycombe Hospital to have surgery and my knee op was postponed, this was about 18 months ago. I understand hospital procedures are affected because of Covid but I have not heard from the hospital for 18 months. I don't know if I am still being considered for surgery. My condition has progressively been getting worse and am finding it extremely difficult to walk a small distance (30 yards) without severe pain which then affects my hips and back. I have been taking pain killers on a daily basis for this period but they do not have the effect they used to.
