"insensitive and difficult"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

it took me and my partner several attempts to be seen at the early pregnancy unit despite repeat A&E visits and calls. We kept trying and calling until someone picked up the phone and told us we had clear symptoms that needed to be seen to.

When my partner went for a scan, to be told that we had lost the baby, the patient care was very poor. There was no empathy or care procedure and she was sent to a grieving room alone (due to the COViD outbreak) and was sat close to a staff member who was loudly swearing and complaining that there were too many patients for a sunny weekend and that they wanted to go home. it was completely unacceptable and insensitive.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding you and your partners recent experience especially at a time that must be so difficult for you both. I would like to offer my sincere condolences on the sad loss of your baby.

It is clear from your posting that some aspects of your partners care were not of the standard we expect and therefore, it is important that we look into this in more detail. If you feel able to, please contact our PALS team on 01924 542972 or via email on myh-tr.palsmidyorks@nhs.net.

I hope to hear from you and thank you again for sharing your feedback with us.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn

(Patient Liaison Improvement Lead)
