"Still no-one calling me back"

About: Christchurch Hospital / General medicine Royal Bournemouth General Hospital / X-ray and Scans

(as the patient),

I was booked to have an MRI and CT Scan and then it was cancelled and then I recieved a letter saying it was on hold. Then I was told to contact Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch to re-schedule and I requested to go to Nuffield as there was less risk for me there and they said they would call back but they didn't. I know this is a difficult time but I am in constant pain and really need help with my spinal problems and my hip.I have tried calling Bournemouth and Christchurch and am told on the phone the times I can call, which I have adhered to, but still no-one calling me back and I can't get through to Outpatient appointments in either Hospital. Is there anything you could help with please?

Dear Shortywits

Thank you for making contact with us today.

We are sorry to hear you are having difficulty in getting clear communication about you postponed scans and that this delay is not helping with your pain.

I have raised your concern with the Radiology manager, the CT/MRI Senior Radiologist and also the Clerical Manager; obviously without any of your patient details they are unable to look at your patient notes or any previous correspondence but would like to be able to assist you. They have asked me to confirm that you are calling the department directly on 01202 704247 rather than an outpatient extension number.

If you have further difficulties in getting through to the department please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 01202 704886 or pals@rbch.nhs.uk who can take further details and make direct contact on your behalf.

Regards

Patient Experience Team
