"Peer to peer group discussions"

About: One Recovery Bucks / Aylesbury

(as a service user),

I commenced the online peer to peer groups with Marios about 3 weeks ago. Prior to attending the online group, I was apprehensive, wondering what information will be shared. I was also worried about showing my face, but realizing actually if I didn't, I would not have had the same experience.

The people in the group are from all walks of life and what is fascinating is the non judgmental aspect of the meeting. It was really useful and really gave me strength and almost come off the session and more relaxed and calm.

Mario is an excellent host. He makes people feel at ease, encourages respect and open conversation. I look forward to actually attending these sessions and feel I come further with each one.

Thank you for your support.

Hi there,

Thank you so much for your very useful feedback about your experience of accessing our new online peer support group. I understand completely why you would have felt apprehensive about accessing support online, it's new to us all in our changing world, but we are pleased to say using MS Team it is very secure and as an NHS service, safety was our first consideration choosing the platform.

We know the real benefits and value that accessing peer support groups has on people, as you mention people from all walks of life are impacted by substance misuse, and it is so good to hear that you have found the groups non-judgemental and provide the support that you need. We all need a space to feel relaxed and calm.

I will ensure Marios gets your feedback, he is a much valued member of our team and its great to see his skills shining within the group.

Keep accessing the group and ask your keyworker about the rest of our online group programmes if you haven't seen this already.

Keep working on your recovery and can I wish you every success for your future.

Stay safe and well, and thanks again for your feedback.

Kind regards

Tracy
