Being under the care of BRI dermatology for just over a year, the doctors are great and very knowledgeable but its severely let down by their poor communication.
Twice over the past year I've been told I need to call the dermatology nurse or department to discuss symptoms or medication, most recently during this pandemic they wanted to up my medication after speaking with my GP I was told to call the department just was just transferred round the hospital until finally put though to a voice mail that told me NOT to leave a message and to call the original number I called if it was urgent. Totally useless. On top of that I received no letter advising me I was vulnerable to the coronavirus despite the fact I was on immunosuppressants and a family member of mine being seen by weston hospital dermatology had been sent one by them for the same medication.
I understand the pressure they are under and that why I would still recommend them but they need to improve communication before something serious happens how are patients to know what to do if they had issues with medication if they cant speak to anyone especially as we are told we have to stay home so can attend the hospital in person.
"Treatment and staff are great but communication…"
