About: Ninewells Hospital / Acute Medical Unit (AMU)

(as a service user),

On a recent admission to Ninewells Hospital Acute Medical Unit I received excellent care from nurses, students and support staff.  Unfortunately this was ruined by the attitude and behaviour of one of the members of staff.  The sheer manner in which this staff member spoke to nursing staff I found unacceptable and I heard comments that were shouted loudly about other patients. I feel this showed nothing but clear disregard for those in the care.

I feel this staff member lacked professionalism and lack of respect for colleagues as well as patients with what I witnessed in front of 4 patients as well as various members of staff.

I would like to highly recommend the excellent care I received from nursing staff and how well they dealt with the situation.

I am pleased that you found the majority of staff, and the nursing staff in particular, to provide excellent care.
