"Aberdeen Maternity Triage Team"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as the patient),

I have attended triage a few times now at the Maternity Hospital and the team are very friendly, thorough and put you at ease.  They don't mess about and get you down to get checked out quickly.  Great team of midwives.

One thing that was slightly confusing was despite all the midwives being kitted out in PPE there was a nurse who was dealing with patients with none on at all (no mask etc).  Partners cannot currently accompany mums for infection risk so surely all staff should have to follow the same PPE rules when dealing with patients to minimise the same risk?

Dear Jester,

Thank you for getting in touch and I will pass on your feedback to the team, they will be delighted to hear that you found your experience positive.

With regard your an individual not wearing PPE it is difficult to comment without knowing specific details. I will discuss this with the Senior Charge Midwife of the area, who will ensure that all staff are adhering to the appropriate guidance.

Best Wishes

Liz
