"Dermatology bloods appointment during Covid-19"

I attended an appointment to have bloods taken today at the dermatology clinic. They were aware I am shielding (as immunosuppressed) and this was noted several times throughout the call. It was stated I would be guided into a "hub" for my bloods, again, specifically for patients who are shielding. I was to wait in the car until called in, which I did do.

However, I was surprised to see the nurse was not wearing a mask or gloves when they came out to take in another patient who was waiting outside the entrance. 

The patient left, also not wearing a face mask.

The nurse then came out, and called me in. I went inside to see a receptionist wearing a face mask, however the nurse who took my bloods had no mask, gloves, or apron. I didn't see the nurse wash, but assumed they surely must have.

I should have said something at the time, but felt when I returned to the car I'll just sanitise my arm/hand that the nurse touched.

And with further thought I decided to write to clarify what the procedures are regarding protocol during covid-19 pandemic. 

I've been shielding for nearly two months, so it was surprising to see the hygiene/safety slip in Burnside House during a pandemic - I’m immunocompromised and feel this was not acceptable.

I hope future patients are treated with more caution and thought.
