I was in Barnsley hospital for a hemroid operation and in for just 1 night. I was dissapointed with the nursing, and I was mostly left to do my own thing, with the nurses not coming back after I asked them to do things. In one instance I couldn't go to the toilet, the nurse didn't come and I was in a lot of pain.
When I was in pain the nurses only prescibed 2 paracetamol, when I asked for some stronger drugs (which the doctor, I found actually did prescribe in the first place) the nurse never came back, and so I was just left. It was 5am before I could get proper medication, this was a long time considering I was in hospital from 10am the day before.
There were poor communication issues sometimes, was told I shouldn't take aspirin 1 day before my operation, but having spoken to the doctor he said I shouldn't have taken it 1 whole week before.
