"Gynaecology referral"

About: Tunstall Primary Care Centre

(as a service user),

I went to the GP because of my painful periods  I was sent for a internal ultra sound  then told to come back to discuss the results they were clear but was not told that at the time and the doctor said in need to send you for a biopsy and camera I thought  I might have cancer as I returned to work and even thought I was on a 2 week referral

when I went for my swabs and smear    my husband came with me he asked about the ultra sound and was given a print out only in the car park did we read/see it was clear when they said camera my husband said do you mean hysteroscopy and they said yes and squirmed in their seat

what upsets me is according to guidelines I should not have been sent as I do not fit the other issues like family history ect  now it is in their remit to send  me for these tests but I should have been told the ultrasound was clear and it was do as a precaution to rule out cancer  not for it

so when I got to the gynaecologist as was very confused as to why I was offered 2 other treatments and said you haven't read the leaflet have you on merrorie (heavy bleeding) so I should of been given  that leaflet also considering she sent me for a hysterscopy  that leaflet to witch brings me on to my summery

my husband wrote to the surgery with out my knowledge but instead of disusing this over email I got called in and wasted 2 appointments AND you took no responsibility I was never told by the DR or the gynaecologist or sent any leaflets but the hospital to say this can be excruciatingly painfully as they do it to with out anaesthesia my husband after doing research found that the hospital hurt 1 in 4 and 1 in 10 can not tolerate it luckly I wanted GA  so was pain free  I just want the surgery to know it is not ok to send me for very painfully tests (especially when it seems you don't understand the guidelines) with out making sure I have or will have or be fully informed if I had had this done bean extremely painfully I would never go again for anything like smear tests. especially when you know its painful
