Stayed at medway for one week, after the emergency caesarean with my premature son. He was moved to NICU, which has been amazing, The team there are fantastic, and we owe them a huge debt of gratitude. The post natal care on Kent ward was appalling. In my week there I was not offered one cooked meal. I was not given pain medication regularly, and fluids. My parents had to bring me in food, and pain relief. I was unable to care for myself for the first day or so, and was left very vulnerable. My mother spoke to a midwife in charge and explained my situation, and concerns. promises were made, but when I get my toast ( breakfast offered) at 9 in the evening, I can safely say it didn't work. Face masks and gloves from the previous patient was left in the room, and hygiene was lacking. a really awful experience. And the top it off, they discharge me, and call me hours later, worrying , wondering where I am, and where my son was !
