"Well looked after"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Care of the Elderly (Wards 9-12)

(as a relative),

Mum admitted to hospital   last week unable to stand or walk and generally poorly. We were nervous about her going into hospital but   did not need to worry she was well looked after and staff were kind and caring whilst getting her back on her feet. They were considerate with us as a family and listened to our concerns.

Dear fi Scotland,

I'm sorry to hear your mum was unwell and needed to go into hospital, a worrying time for the whole family I'm sure; it's great news that she's "back on her feet".

Families have a significant part to play in a person's treatment and care by letting staff know about their relative and what is important to them, or what routines they may have at home; I'm really pleased to hear that staff listened to and were able to address any concerns you had as it's important that families are supported as well.

The staff will be delighted to receive such positive feedback.

I wish your mum well with her ongoing recovery.

Kind regards

Rick
