For some months I have suffered awful pain in my wrist.
I saw my GP about 6 weeks ago and he gave me the information to get an appointment at the hand trauma clinic, Calderdale Hospital, Halifax - that was today 14th Feb 2008.
I just want to say how pleased I was! My appointment was 0935; I was seen by 0950. The consultant was lovely - polite, concerned, gentle!
He administered a local anaesthetic before giving me a steroid injection - so no awful pain to start with, then arrange for me to have a wrist/thumb brace.
In all, everyone at the hospital was kind and considerate. I feel sorry for all hospital workers as they have such a hard job to start with and the lack of resources just make it so much harder. Well done all of you!
"Happy day at Halifax Hospital!"
