"Outstanding care and service"

About: Stopgate

I rang the surgery on Monday morning after my wife had noticed a lump behind my ear. The GP rang me back within the hour and instigated a video consultation and, a result, he made a referral to hospital for examination under the two week system.

The following morning one of the receptionists rang me to advise me when my appointment was and that she was emailing the appointment letter to me. This morning at 10.50 I walked out of Broadgreen Hospital after a very comprehensive examination, having been told I had nothing to worry about. incidentally, the doctor who examined me was so calm, efficient and reassuring it was unbelievable.

The whole process took just four days, and all while the world is in the grip of a pandemic. Impressive doesn't even begin to cover this, but what is more difficult to quantify is the warmth and kindness that is a key feature of the way this practice operates, and that runs right through the whole set up. I've often said it before, and I don't mind repeating myself, I always feel that the people at this practice don't just care for me, they care about me.

It's a well known fact that men of a certain age tend not to visit their GP, often with tragic consequences, the staff at Stopgate Lane feel like friends and are so easy to talk to, and it's noticeable that locums and new recruits slip into that ethos very quickly and easily. Their attitude alone must be saving our fantastic NHS a fortune.
