"My daughter who took seriously ill just before corona"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Intensive Care Unit Ninewells Hospital / Medical High Dependency

(as a parent/guardian),

My autistic adult daughter who took seriously ill just before corona struck the country.

My 28 year old autistic daughter who studies in Dundee had a burst stomach ulcer in  Feb 2020. She was rushed to ninewells Hospital. She developed sepsis, had 2 life saving operations, developed flu and pneumonia and therefore had a long road to recovery. I live in Greenock so travelled straightaway to Dundee to be by her side. I was very worried re her grave condition. She was in intensive care then high dependency then a general ward. The care and attention (considering her poor state and the fact she is autistic) was first class.

Dear lelsher

I am so pleased to hear of your positive experience whilst being cared for by our nursing and medical teams within Intensive Care, Ninewells

I appreciate that any admission to hospital can be worrying, and I'm pleased to hear your daughter has been well looked after throughout your time with us.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback and I wish your daughter all the best in her ongoing recovery.
