"My experience on Barnes ward"

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital / Colorectal surgery Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Colorectal surgery

(as the patient),

In Sept 2018 I had emergency surgery. A part of my bowel had to be removed due to a blood clot. I ended up with a stoma and fistula bags. I spent 5 weeks on the ward.. I was fed through a pic line .

The staff were amazing. It was a learning curve for all involved. I was transferred to Queens Medical in Nottingham as they are the experts in TPN-- home nutrition through a Hickman line..

I just want to update the staff to.let them know I have had my bowel reconnected an oK am doing Fine. Those first weeks on Barnes ward were vital for me having the life I have now. A Big thank you to all staff
