I was fortunate to have open surgery on two hernias on the 10th March, just before the Covid - 19 restrictions came into place. I felt very lucky that my surgery went ahead and cosseted from the crisis that staff were facing; a reflection of their care and professionalism.
Facing surgery with a variety of health issues was a worry, and I was greatly reassured by the diligence of all that looked after me.
Thank you to Dr. Kennedy, Consultant Anaesthetist, his team and the theatre staff for looking after me during my surgery.
Thank you to all the staff on Montacute Ward - aren't we lucky to have such an amazing building!
Thank you to Staff Nurses: Michelle - so lovely to see a familiar face when I arrived on the ward - Romanian Anna, Italian Anna and Adam (still can't believe that you admitted to supporting Chelsea!) for your cheerful and thorough care.
Thank you to Health Care Assistants: Freya, Milly and Elaine for your patience and kindness.
Thank you to Mr Noble, General Surgeon, and his team for looking after me during and after my surgery. I immediately felt the benefit of the operation and know how fortunate I was to have been given a negative pressure dressing; my wound has healed beautifully - thank you.
I am truly grateful for the excellent care that I received. We are so lucky to have the NHS and should not take it for granted at any time.
Thank you to ALL in the NHS for facing the current crisis with such professionalism and selflessness. Thank you.❤
