"Great Service"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / GP Out of Hours NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) University Hospital Monklands / Ear, Nose & Throat (Ward 9)

(as the patient),

I would like to say thank you to all the NHS services involved in helping me with my recent abscess.  Thank you to NHS24 for getting the GP out of hours to contact me & for the Doctor to telephone me, listen & get me to re-attend FVRH GP OOH Service (I think the GP was a Scott), visit at 03:15am.  I am so grateful that he asked me to re-attend & re-examine me, as I had been in agony for 4 days solid.

Once the diagnosis had been made, I would like to compliment NHS Lanarkshire - the ENT consultant who telephoned me the next day & organised for me to get prompt treatment.  The ENT consultant could not have been nicer, sorry I can't remember his first name, his surname is Naranc.  The ENT chap was really professional & genuinely interested in my wellbeing - I am also really grateful for being able to acquire all the necessary medication from the Monklands Hospital Pharmacy prior to leaving.  It was 1 less thing to worry about, given my ill health at the time.

I would not change anything about my experience with the NHS on this occasion & I would be grateful if you could pass on my thanks to all the staff involved.  This has now been a week since treatment & I am grateful for all the help given to me to get me back to full health.

Dear PollyBU

How kind of you to take the time to thank the staff involved in your care. A abscess can be a hugely debilitating condition and I am pleased you are well on the mend. The staff who cared for you in such a person centred way are a credit to the NHS for sure.

Thanks for specifically mentioning your call to NHS 24 and I am pleased this resulted in onward care being arranged to assist you.

Many of our staff here at NHS 24 read our Care Opinion stories and it is always good for us to learn what happens to a patient following a call to our service.

With best wishes for a continued speedy recovery.

Shona
