My wife is currently receiving chemotherapy at Treliske for triple negative breast cancer. She is responding well to the treatment but now, according to what we've been told, it appears to be uncertain as to whether she will be able to have surgery due to staff and resources being diverted to help with the Covid-19 pandemic.
We have strictly adhered to government advice to self-isolate, not going out apart from to attend hospital appointments. Surely, cancer sufferers are amongst the most vulnerable people at this time and their care should be prioritised? I feel that staff and resources should not be taken away at this crucial time.
