I wish I had found this site before! Approximately 2 year's ago my husband had to call NHS 24 and the Nurse who came and the ambulance people were wonderful, so my husband told me because I can't remember! I was taken to Ward 7c at Raigmore Hospital and was shocked at how short staffed they were but saying that, the treatment I received from the Nurses and the Junior Dr.s was wonderful but I have a new hero and that is Thoracic Consultant, Dr. Paterson who found when he looked at my Xray, that there was a shadow area. He organised for me to have a biopsy and scans and I was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma in the top lobe of my right lung. Dr. Paterson then organised for me to have a Lobectomy at the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Glasgow which was also, mostly, amazing. A wonderful Surgeon!
I cannot thank Dr. Paterson's team enough because they are incredible and as for Dr. Paterson, he was so kind and he saved my life where another department had missed diagnosing the tumour. I will never, ever forget his kindness and his dedication and I hope that Raigmore treasure him because it's rare, I have found, to have a Consultant who listens to what you are saying and how you feel. A wonderful Dr. and a wonderful team and it feels so inadequate to say thank you but thank you so, so much. I would also like to wish all the NHS Staff at Raigmore and all through Scotland and Britain all the very best wishes. I think you are ALL so brave and thank you so much for all that you do. Good luck, take care and please be safe and know how much we care about you all. Dr. Paterson and the team, please take care and be very safe.
"The team are incredible"
