"Absolutely disgusting and one I would not wish on..."

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

What I liked

I did not like anything about this hospital.

What could be improved

To employed better, caring and more deadicated staff.

Anything else?

My Mother was admitted to this hospital with a blockage in her intestine Ward A10. When my daughter and I went to visit her my Mother asked for a drink. Her mouth was bone dry and sore. When I went to find a nurse I was told one would come shortly. When one arrived in my Mother's room, the nurse stood over my Mother's bed and explained to me that my Mother was on 'the pathway for the dying'. She explained that she couldn't have a drink due to the blockage as she would only vomit it back up. My Mother was lucid and alert until the end.(she said that all the nurses taked about was sex) I cannot comprehend why a nurse would give a patient's relative news such as this whilst stood over the patient. It is Totally unacceptable for any professional person to behave in this way. The experience of my Mother's final hours in that ward has left me with a feeling of complete and utter disgust at the uncaring and callous way she was treated by staff who do not have a caring bone in their body and think more about their sex lives than their patients wellbeing.
