My sister was recently referred with severe obstructive sleep apnoea. She is struggling to cope with anything at the moment. Her sleep apnoea is completely debilitating and coupled with the fact that she has MS she is struggling to function on a daily basis.
She has been advised that she would have to wait 3 months for the apparatus that she needs. I am extremely concerned about her health.
Upon speaking to her consultant (from GGC) we were advised that Lanarkshire Health board are not currently supplying a service and are not paying GGC for the service they are supplying to support Lanarkshire. I understand that there are exceptional circumstances at the moment but for Lanarkshire not to be supplying this service at all is surely unacceptable given the population and this is extremely concerning.
