"Non communication"

About: Basildon University Hospital

Attended outpatients for appointment, only to be told the appointment had been cancelled. I have had no communication to inform me. I have mobility problems and have to arrange for people to take me to any appointments. This wasted not only my time, but those who help me. Receptionist really helpful. Next appointment offered was May 2020. This is having a massive impact on my life due to not knowing the results of a test that happened 4+ weeks ago.

Firstly may we apologise that our response did not appear on this site at the time your comments were posted.

We are sorry that you were not made aware of your appointment being cancelled before you attended the department and that you were asked to take a later appointment in May. As many appointments have been cancelled due to COVID-19, it may be possible that this appointment has also been cancelled. Please accept our apologies if this is the case. If you would like to speak to anyone with your concerns, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at pals@btuh.nhs.uk and they will endeavour to assist you.
