"Finding out my MRI results"

About: New Victoria Hospital / X-rays and scans Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Ear, Nose & Throat (Ward 11b)

(as the patient),

I had an MRI about a month ago and at the time I was told I would receive a letter in the post with the results. I didn't receive anything, so I started to phone around and try and chase it up. I was passed around 7 times between departments and by the end of it I hung up.

My MRI was in The New Victoria, I phoned the clinic that recommended it, they passed me to the imaging who passed me to the switch board, who passed me to QEUH reception who transferred me and the line went dead.

I called back QEUH who then said I needed my consultant name who requested the MRI, they passed me back to New Victoria switchboard where I spoke to the same staff member who transferred me earlier and who then seemed to get annoyed because she assumed I had made a mistake.

I explained I needed my consultants name which she then provided, passed me back to QEUH who transferred me to the wrong ENT department. I was then given another number by the ENT department to which I hung up.

Absolutely ridiculous. I still don't know my results.

Dear Kurt,

Please accept my apologies for the difficulty you have experienced in getting your MRI results. This isn't the experience we want our patients to have. Waiting for test results can be a worrying time and I'm so sorry you've had difficulty in getting your results back.

I have passed this on to the service and will ask them to look into this matter for you.

Many Thanks,
Rachel
