"Happy with care and support"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Ward 13.

Nurses been great. Nurses very understanding, always pleasant. Nurses Communicate well with patients despite the very big age differences. Nurses will give advice freely if patient requests it. Patient appreciates that they do this without having first to refer to several different people. ‘Don’t envy the nurses their job have to deal with all sorts of problems even though some of them are very young and don’t have as much life experience’.

Doctors explained condition to patient in layman’s terms. Road ahead been explained and OTs to visit home to assess what aids should be put in place to enable patient to return home.

Medication arrives on time. Buzzers answered quickly.

Family happy with care and support while in hospital. Son speaks to staff regularly and is happy with level of involvement.

Dear Uhh206

Thank you for being an advocate for our patients and carers by providing feedback of their experiences.

I will ensure the teams are aware of the patient experience and I'm pleased to see the reflection that no matter the age of our staff, they have acted in a professional manner becoming of our NHSL values and care.

Kind regards

Gwen
