I accompanied my mother to A&E at ARI late in the evening. The care she received on admission was very good, especially from staff nurse Christabelle who remembered my mother from a recent appointment at the fracture clinic. Christabelle took time to chat to her patient but also to myself and my father, making sure we knew what was happening and when she saw my father was clearly struggling with the situation she took the time to make him a cup of tea and sat chatting to my father while I stayed with my mother. This really was a fantastic example of patient and family centred care and helped my family at a very difficult and stressful time. The doctor and other nurses looking after my mother were also very kind and understanding despite being extremely busy.
