"Dialysis 3 days a week"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Cardiology Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Renal unit

(as the patient),

Unfortunately in the last three years realised I required heart valve replacements. My Consultant informed me that the operation was necessary. She told me and my wife all the pros and cons of the operation.

Anyway had the operation, but unfortunately my donated kidney did not make it (long story). I was informed that I would have to have haemodialysis three days a week. I do this at WHSCT Renal Unit, where the Doctors and Nurses have been absolutely fabulous.

encourage people to share their experiences of health and social care, what matters to you, what you particularly liked or disliked so that we can share with the relevant department, and staff .

Hello John WA

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback about the staff in the renal unit.despite your own health issues. I will share this with the staff

I noticed that you put food under what could be improved. Would you be able to provide some more information about the food received as you attend the unit three times a week. So any feedback about this if we need to plan a change in order to help enhance your experience would be appreciated.

Best wishes

Vi
