"Week stay"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Stroke Unit (Ward 11)

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Ward 11.

Staff have been quite good.

Communication with doctor not very clear.

Today for example doctor came but because patient had visitor at that time so no update given.

Patient thought they would maybe get out today. Advised to speak to nurse for update.

Speech and language therapist put patient on a puréed diet which is not to their liking although the patient understands why this is required.

Staff kind and look after patient to the best of their availability. Seen physiotherapist and occupational therapist.

Dear UHW31

Thanks for completing the post on behalf of the patient.

I am pleased to note that the staff were kind and looked after you to the best of their ability.

I am disappointed that communication with the doctor was not very clear and that the doctor did not update you today. We will ensure these comments are shared with the medical staff. In the meantime I hope you have spoken to ward staff and that they have fully updated you on the plan for your care going forward.

I hope you get home soon and that you make a continued recovery.

Kind regards

Janice
