"Cataract removal and lens implant"

About: Queen Victoria Hospital (East Grinstead) / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

This is the second eye to be treated and I was slightly apprehensive , I should not have been. Truly excellent staff and even a voluntary hand holder !

Very timely start, a strange long gap in between?

Wonderful surgeon, explained everything before we went in and during.

Dear Caterham7

Thank you for your feedback following your recent eye surgery.

I will be delighted to pass on your very positive comments to the staff within the eye department.

The hand holding service is something that we have had in place for a while now. People who are apprehensive about having eye surgery are offered a comforting hand to hold while their operation is taking place. This has the potential for reducing anxiety in many patients having cataract surgery under local anaesthesia, and the feedback has been wonderful.

Once again thank you for your posting and wish you all the very best.

Kind regards

Nicolle Ferguson, Patient Experience Manager
