"Demeaning and rude"

About: John Coupland Hospital

(as the patient),

The staff member who did my ultrasound was very rude in my opinion, and actually hurt me by pressing the device right into my hip bone. I said ouch out loud but they didn’t seem to care.  I have no clue why it was being pressed on my hip. I had to hold my breath to deal with the pain. I was also told that they were having a hard time getting the reading because I was “overweight.” I understand that that may have been the case however I feel they didn’t have to tell me that, or if necessary could’ve told me in a nicer way.

Also was very demeaning and rude to my boyfriend. When he asked how big the baby is in comparison to an object or fruit, shrugged and just said "how should I know that?" Comparing the baby size to a fruit is very common and most expecting parents do this. Proceeded to tell us our baby is "6mm long" which is wrong, as I am 12 weeks pregnant and my baby should be at least 2.13 inches. I was very unimpressed. All the other staff I dealt with though, such as the staff members who took my bloods and weight, were absolutely brilliant and patient with me when I went faint and had to lie down
