"Infant Support Worker Lana (Invergordon/Tain)"

About: Highland Community Services / Breastfeeding Support Service Highland Community Services / Nursing and Child Health

(as a service user),

Lana and the team have been absolutely incredible going above and beyond supporting me and my family throughout our journey having our first child.

I attended her breastfeeding class last year while pregnant which was just amazing, and inspired me to do more research and become determined to breastfeed. I enjoyed the class so much, I went again when she ran it a few months later (4 days before I gave birth! ).

The hypnobirthing sessions were so powerful and I used the skills I learned to labour for 12 hours pain-relief-free, just using breathing and affirmations. I have since shared my story with staff so they can share my positive birth experience with other mums and how great the classes were. Lana was always supportive, super friendly and relatable. She took time out to explain things and share stories in person, over text and on social media.

She also came out to our house once we had the baby and showed us how to use the baby box wrap and how to do baby massage - after a very long day at the office bless her. She is so great at her job and we are so lucky to have her - I really hope her funding continues to keep her in post permanently.

Thank you Highland Mumma for your comments on the care you have received from Lana and congratulations on the birth of your baby.

It is really encouraging to read your positive experiences of the ante natal breastfeeding class that Lana runs with the local community midwife and also the huge role that she has, often behind the scenes, in running our social media support and ante natal groups.

I will pass these comments on to Lana and share this also with her local midwifery team.

Thank you again
