"I really enjoy the activities and support and the banter"

About: Dirrans Centre (including rehab)

(as a service user),

Around 15 months ago I suffered a major heart attack and 2 stokes. I have had wonderful help and treatment by everyone, especially my wife. Unfortunately, I had a number of set backs and I started to think very negatively and was suffering depression. As part of my treatment, I was referred to the Dirrans Centre. The staff are wonderful and I have been involved in the woodworking group, the walking group and baked scones, played carpet bowl, trivial pursuits and dominoes. I really enjoy the activities and support and the banter with other clients. I love it so much that I am hoping to continue attending as a volunrary helper. It is the sort of environment I would love to work. Thank you everyone.

Dear Veteran Nigel,

Many thanks for posting about your experience of attending the Dirrans Centre.

We are delighted that you feel you have benefited from our support and have enjoyed the activities you participated in.

After a traumatic event it is so important to be able to join in with others, share experiences, have fun and try new things.

You obviously now feel much more confident and ready to move on to the next chapter of your life.

We would be delighted to have you as a volunteer and look forward to discussing this with you.

Wishing you every success in the future.

Kind regards

Nanette
