"Patronising to make something seem so black and white"

About: April House

(as the patient),

Very unhelpful. Therapists were condescending and did not listen to me. They just told me to eat more and  regularly when it’s not that easy. When I raised my concerns I was told I do not have to come and everything was warped back onto me like I’m in the wrong. When surely they’re not fulfilling their job role to be making patients to feel worse when they’re meant to be helping them. I struggle with anxiety and communicating again , i was told “well adult living” this is appalling and patronising to make something seem so black and white. I’m really sick and have a disorder, struggle to walk most days... i’m not able to function like your everyday average adult

I struggle with writing and understanding things so the food diaries are hard for me to fill out, i’m simply made to feel like i’m doing this all wrong when I’n clearly trying and complying but instead I am made to feel like i’m going to get in trouble for it.
My doctors aren’t monitoring me as frequently now as my last blood test was stabilised and I was more or less patronised about why I was not attending medical monitoring. I would like to stress i cannot make the doctor monitor me more frequently especially if THEY don’t feel like it’s necessary as they’re the professionals.
This is a place people go to for help and it’s actually vile for me to be made to feel 10x worse than when I came in.
This place doesn’t show any evidence of wanting to provide the correct level of care for me or take me seriously, making me feel like i need to worse. I think they need to re-evaluate their methods because no one should be made to feel invalidated and intimidated from a service that is meant to provide support.
