"Elective Orthopaedic Surgery for Partial Knee replacement."

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics (wards 21-23)

(as the patient),

Underwent surgery for Partial Knee replacement 3 weeks ago. Patient in Ward 21 RAH. Excellent care by a great team of Nurses, Physios and Medical Staff.

Nursing staff provided excellent care in a thoroughly professional , compassionate way to all patients in the ward. Explained everything, offered regular analgesia and were so supportive and encouraging esp in the early stages of mobilising which is very difficult.  Al staff were great without exception but a huge thanks to the Night Duty Nurse Amy who was outstanding. In all honesty this type of surgery is very painful and she got me through that first night. Can't thank you enough. And to HCSW Tricia who was also brilliant and I owe her a huge big favour.   Sorry for flooding the shower room.......

Physiotherapy assistant Maric was brilliant too. Positive and encouraging. Explained everything as we went on. Big smile on his face all the time.

Overall I was so impressed with the whole team on this ward. Great example of staff working together for the patients benefit. You should all be really proud of each other.

Thank you all very much.

Dear sevo-on-the rocks

Many thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback and this will be shared with the team involved who will be delighted.

In particular, as he is a member of my service, I will pass your feedback on to Marek. I am pleased that your experience of the rehabilitation service was so positive and encouraging as I know that this is what Marek and the AHP team strive to provide to all our patients.

Best wishes with your on going recovery

Kind Regards

Louise Watson

Dear Sevo-on- the- rocks

Thank you very much for your feedback on Care Opinion to tell us about your recent surgery and patient experience in Ward 21 at the RAH.

I am pleased to hear you have had a positive experience in Ward 21 with your surgery and the team will be pleased to hear you are making a good recovery. The team in Ward 21 are very cohesive and are experts in nursing our Elective patients. I am sure the flooded bathroom can be forgiven under the circumstances.

Best wishes

Ann-marie
