"Hospital admittance and long wait time"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Acute Receiving Unit (Units 1-5)

(as the patient),

I was called at 4 o’clock to say that my heart results from January (it’s now February) has been received and I was to come to hospital.

On arrival at hospital (bearing in mind they called me up!) I was told there would be an 8hr wait to see the doctor!

Why wait almost 6 weeks to call me back to make me wait 8hrs in the middle of the night!

Absolutely ridiculous!

I would just like to stress my frustrations are not aimed at the staff as they do a wonderful job.

Dear PHGQEH

Thank you for posting on Care Opinion. I am very sorry to hear that you had to experience this. I would have hoped that with you being contacted by the hospital to attend then you would not have required to wait a further 8 hours and apologise for this. I shall pass on your comments to my colleagues at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

In the meantime I hope that you are well.

Regards
Sheila
