About: University Hospital Wishaw / Plastic Surgery & Burns

(as the patient),

went in for op on ear for skin cancer on morning recently.   all went well until a heavy bleed at home in the afternoon that we could not stop,

contacted day surgery, on hearing of heavy bleed told us to come  back to surgery, reception managed to contact a member of original surgical team who then somehow got together a team led by a surgical senior nurse Mrs Prichard or  Picuard 

hope this IDs the proper person anyway she had to go  back in to the wound to find the bleeds, [two of them],this was done in such a manner by the team,it was really appreciated,really well done.

I’m sorry to hear that you had a complication following your treatment, this must have been very worrying for you, but it is great to hear that the team rallied quickly to identify the bleeding source and control it. Teamwork does indeed make the dream work!

The Plastic Surgery Team is led by Nurse Consultant Catriona Pickard and I will be sure to pass your kind comments on to her. I’m sure the team will be delighted with such positive feedback.
